Bachman & Turner reunite with special guest Kim Mitchell; tickets start at $10

Thu, Aug 12th 2010 12:00 pm

Randy Bachman and Fred Turner, two giants of rock ‘n' roll, are finally back together after being apart for more than 20 years. On Aug. 27 at 8 p.m. in Artpark's Mainstage Theater, the full-throttle rock machine will converge as Bachman & Turner present their "Forged in Rock Tour," which began in June.

Canadian rocker Kim Mitchell will open the show.

Tickets for this exclusive event are only $25 for indoor seating and $10 for lawn seating.

The men at the heart of legendary band, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, set for a new studio album release this fall, will be stocked with great new tracks - all penned by Bachman and Turner - that seamlessly fit among their classic rock anthems.

"I'm thrilled to be working on new music with Fred and feel a sense of excitement and anticipation," Bachman says. "I feel like I'm coming full circle with a completeness that I never ever thought I'd feel again."

In the mid-70s, after Bachman's colossal success in Winnipeg rock band the Guess Who (including the No. 1 Billboard hit "American Woman"), he soared even further with Turner in Bachman-Turner Overdrive. The band became nothing short of a musical phenomenon. The group's success was extraordinary and spread across the globe.

Over a four year run, Bachman-Turner Overdrive sold in excess of 30 million records, earning a staggering 120 platinum, gold and silver discs, and notching up hits in more than 20 countries. The band reached No. 1 on Billboard's singles chart with "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" and the album chart with "Not Fragile." BTO charted another handful of hits, including "Taking Care of Business" "Hey You," "My Wheels Won't Turn" and "Looking Out For #1."

Tickets are on sale now in person at the Artpark Box Office, at all Tops Markets, by phone at 1-888-223-6000, or online at www.tickets.com or www.artpark.net.
