Patrons are well versed on Toast & Roast Café’s breakfast menu, with the eatery even garnering local write-ups for its popular early-morning offerings. What customers were pleased to discover during the most recent Lenten season was a fresh, Friday fish fry.
That popular dish is back in 2020. Toast & Roast offers many different types of fish platters (beer-battered, panko, regular baked, garlic herb-crusted baked and Greek), as well as a fish sandwich. Regular side choices include baked potato and homemade coleslaw, with a rotating variety of additional homemade sides. Macaroni salad is offered on occasion.
The restaurant is located at 4823 Saunders Settlement Road (just past the corner of Military Road on the way to Lewiston). It’s open at 6:30 a.m., with extended hours on Friday, when fish is served from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
