Philip Rivers & Chargers host Juju Smith-Schuster & Steelers on NBC's 'Sunday Night Football'

Philip Rivers and the Los Angeles Chargers host JuJu Smith-Schuster and the Pittsburgh Steelers this weekend on NBC’s “Sunday Night Football.” Coverage begins at 7 p.m. ET on NBC, followed by kickoff at 8:20 p.m. from Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.

Calling Steelers-Chargers is Al Michaels (play-by-play), in his record 34th season as the voice of the NFL’s premier primetime package; 16-time Emmy Award-winner Cris Collinsworth; and three-time Emmy Award-winning sideline reporter Michele Tafoya. Three-time Super Bowl referee and “SNF” rules analyst Terry McAulay joins Michaels and Collinsworth in the booth.

Chargers QB Rivers, who is eighth on the NFL’s all-time list with 56,121 career passing yards, ranks second in the AFC with 1,465 pass yards this season. In seven career games against Pittsburgh (including the postseason), Rivers has 15 touchdown passes and five interceptions for a 95.3 passer rating. RB Austin Ekeler ties for third in the NFL with six scrimmage touchdowns and WR Keenan Allen is one of only three players in the league to have at least 35 receptions (38) and 450 receiving yards (470) this season.

The Steelers offense is led by WR Smith-Schuster and RB James Conner, while rookie QB Devlin Hodges is expected to make his first career start after injuries to QBs Ben Roethlisberger and Mason Rudolph earlier this season. Steelers rookie first-rounder LB Devin Bush leads all NFL rookies with 45 tackles.

The teams last met on “SNF” in Week 13 of last season, as the Chargers defeated the Steelers, 33-30, on a game-winning 29-yard field goal by Los Angeles K Michael Badgley as time expired. Allen caught 14 passes for 148 yards and a touchdown in the Chargers’ win.

Mike Tirico will host “Football Night in America” at 7 p.m. alongside Hall of Fame coach Tony Dungy, two-time Super Bowl champion Rodney Harrison, “NFL Insider” Mike Florio and former NFL quarterback Chris Simms. Liam McHugh will co-host “FNIA” on-site from Dignity Health Sports Park.
