Village of Lewiston Rec to hold Paul Mamon Memorial 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament for Boys

The Village of Lewiston Recreation Department is sponsoring the Paul Mamon Memorial 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament for Boys starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at the Red Brick Municipal Building gym, North Fourth and Onondaga streets.

The double-elimination tournament is for age groups 11-13 and 13-16. The cost per youth is $15 and includes the game shirt, pizza and a drink. Teams are limited to a maximum of four players. Players must register as a team on the Village of Lewiston Recreation website: www.villageoflewiston.net/recreation-department.

This tournament is named after Mamon who passed away this past year. He volunteered many hours refereeing basketball tournaments for the Village of Lewiston Recreation Department. In addition, Mamon mentored and coached basketball players who participated in sports at the Red Brick.

Recreation Director Brandon McDermott said, “Mr. Mamon had an impact on many youth basketball players. This tournament is in memory of his service to our basketball community.”
