Niagara Falls Memorial to open new stem cell therapy center

Veteran surgeon Andrew Cappuccino to perform procedures

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center announced Dr. Andrew Cappuccino of Buffalo Spine Surgery and Memorial Medical Center are opening a Stem Cell Therapy Center on Memorial’s Tenth Street campus. Under Cappuccino’s supervision, the Stem Cell Therapy Center will offer patients access to state-of-the-art and high-quality care for patients suffering from back and spine pain, numerous orthopaedic conditions and other difficult-to-treat ailments.

Cappuccino is a leading orthopaedic surgeon, treating disorders of the musculoskeletal system, with additional fellowship training in disorders of the spine. He joined Memorial’s medical staff last July and has been performing surgeries since that time. Cappuccino has served as spine surgeon for both the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres for decades, and previously did the same for the New England Patriots.

Cappuccino has treated several professional athletes from across the country, and received wide regard for his treatment of Buffalo Bills player Kevin Everett, who was paralyzed on the field but walked again after Cappuccino treated him with a state-of-the-art technique.

This same expertise will now be available to Memorial patients.

The new Stem Cell Therapy Center will be located in the interventional radiology suite, where procedures will be performed on Fridays. Physician referrals are not necessary for a consultation.

Stem cell therapy is normally a patient self-pay procedure. However, any potential patient’s insurance coverage will be evaluated during the initial consultation, which will be held in Cappuccino’s office, 46 Davidson Court, Lockport.
