On Tuesday’s episode of “Jeopardy!” James Holzhauer, a 34-year-old professional sports gambler from Las Vegas, became only the second person in the show’s history to earn more than $1 million in regular-season (non-tournament) play. His 14th win brought total winnings to $1,061,554.

“Despite what ‘The Social Network’ says, $1 million felt really cool,” Holzhauer said.

The only other contestant to earn more than $1 million in regular-season games is Ken Jennings, whose 74-game streak yielded $2,520,700.

In addition to passing $1 million, this game was an additional milestone for Holzhauer: winning his 14th game means he is now in fourth place on the all-time “Jeopardy!” consecutive wins list. Only Jennings (74 wins), Julia Collins (20 wins) and David Madden (19 wins) have won more.

Tune in Wednesday to watch Holzhauer’s next game. “Jeopardy!” airs at 7:30 p.m. on WIVB-TV Channel 4.
