Out April 24; Kristin Fry converses with over 100 for confidence-infusing book
It is estimated nearly half of the 110.6 million (2017 U.S. Census Bureau) single Americans date online, but how can Christians surf the digital dating waters in an honorable way? Stemming from a conversation with over 100 people from a diverse range of ages, relationship statuses and more, author Kristin Fry offers a voice of reason to break though all the noise in her timely book "Beyond The Swipe" (Kregel Publications) available April 24.
In the midst of the ever-changing dating scene - due to the growing popularity of connection sites and apps - the book is designed to be an encouraging, navigational tool for digital daters to combat fatigue, and remind readers of the unwavering truth about themselves.
In a warm, conversational style, Fry tackles a broad range of topics from evaluating profiles to first dates to maintaining healthy peer friendships even while dating. She mines her own experience in the dating world, but also includes insights from interviews, and in-depth biblical study from Abraham and Sarah, the life of Jesus, the letter of Ephesians and more.
"What you believe about yourself determines your interactions with other people and my hope is to equip single women to not only believe, but to be confident in the truth about themselves," Fry said.
She is a speaker, host and writer on topics of faith, leadership and emotional health. Fry has been a ministry leader at large churches and organizations for the past 15 years, including North Point Ministries (Atlanta) and Cross Point (Nashville), in addition to working on college campuses.
