The Historic Palace Theatre presents Curtain Up's 2017-18 season.

After a record breaking 2016-17 season, this one will open with "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" from Oct. 12-15. That's followed by Lockport's Christmas tradition, "Scrooge the Musical," from Dec. 1-3. This timeless Dickens' classic has been a part of the Curtain Up season since 2003, and has truly become a staple for many in the surrounding community.

From Jan. 18-21, HPT will present "William Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors." Theatergoers can then go "Under The Sea" March 8-18 when "The Little Mermaid" takes the stage.

May 5 will be "An Evening With The Stars Gala" to celebrate the announcement of the 2018-19 season. It will offer an elegant evening of food, drink and entertainment.

The 2017-18 season will close with the Broadway classic "Singing in the Rain" from July 12-22.

Season tickets are now on sale at $125 for adults and $115 for seniors. For more information, or to reserve season tickets, call the box office at 716-438-1130 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. weekdays.

The Historic Palace Theatre is located in the heart of downtown Lockport. Built in 1925 by Charles Dickenson, the proscenium arch-style space is well known as an architectural marvel of the city. The HPT is owned and operated by a nonprofit organization, Historic Palace Inc.
