Play locally made games, meet creators at 2017 Buffalo Game Space Showcase

Developers & artists from in and around WNY will show games they're working on

On May 13, local nonprofit Buffalo Game Space will host its second annual showcase of video games and board games developed in and around Western New York. This year's Buffalo Game Space Showcase will feature over 25 games created by local artists, designers, musicians and developers. Attendees will be able to play the games and meet with the creators demoing work. In addition, the event will feature basket raffles and a cash bar.

"The showcase is a great way for people to see what's happening in the game dev. scene in and around Buffalo," board member Mark Zorn said. "The community of developers in WNY is constantly growing and making new things. This event offers the public a chance to meet these creators and experience their games; plus, it makes for a great party. We're raffling off games, controllers and donations from local businesses and community members, as well. Everyone who came to our first showcase last year had a fantastic time, and we think this one is going to be even better."

Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are on sale now for $15 presale (until May 8), and then jump to $20 online (starting May 9) and at the door. Each ticket to entry comes with two drink tickets and one free ticket for use in the basket raffle. Additional basket raffle and drink tickets will be available for purchase at the event. Buffalo Game Space is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding local game development in Western New York. Its mission is to bring local game developers together and provide classes and an open space to work and collaborate. In doing so they plan to keep local talent here, making Buffalo an epicenter for game development.
