A summary of local Easter-themed events:
•The Town of Wheatfield Youth Center will hold its annual Easter party from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 23, at 2795 Church Road.
Organizers stated, “We will have a visit from the Easter Bunny, games, crafts, petting zoo, light refreshments and an egg hunt. Please bring your camera for photo ops.” For more information, call 716-504-1273.
•The New York Power Authority (NYPA) will host its annual spring “Eggstravaganza” event, featuring a photo opportunity with the Bunny, at the admissions-free Niagara Power Vista on Saturday, March 23.
The activities, including a jellybean counting contest, face painting, balloon art, and free rides on a trackless train surrounding the Power Vista, will run between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Visitors can take advantage of a free photo opportunity with the Bunny until 2 p.m. Additionally, staff from the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation will be on-site providing arts and crafts supplies.
Visitors at the Niagara Power Vista are encouraged to explore its array of multimedia exhibits, including hands-on interactive technologies, large touch screens, and a virtual rollercoaster relating to the production of electricity, energy efficiency and the area’s history. The location also provides unique views from the observation deck 350 feet above the Niagara River Gorge.
The Power Vista is located at 5777 Lewiston Road in Lewiston. Parking is free and will be available in the Power Vista parking lot and adjacent lots at Niagara University. The Niagara Power Vista is a stop on the Discover Niagara Shuttle’s “Falls to the Fort” route.

•The Town of Lewiston Recreation Department will present an Easter egg hunt starting at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, at the Lewiston Senior Center, 4361 Lower River Road.
Bring a basket to fill with eggs. Children will be divided into age groups (2-5, 6-9, 10-plus). The egg hunt will start promptly at 11:30 a.m. in Pletcher Park (weather-permitting).
Hot chocolate, coffee and doughnuts will be served inside the Senior Center prior to the egg hunt.
•The Town of Niagara Recreation Department will present an Easter egg hunt from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at Veterans Memorial Park, 7000 Lockport Road.
This event will include light snacks and refreshments. The Easter bunny will be in attendance to meet children under the age of 3 at 1:30 p.m.; children ages 4-7 at 2 p.m.; and children ages 8-12 at 2:30 p.m. Registration is required. Admission is free for Town of Niagara residents. All others will be charged $5 per family at the door.
•CSL Plasma is hosting its third annual Easter egg hunt at noon Sunday, March 24. The event is free and open to children ages 10 and under. Families can take a picture with the Easter Bunny.
The holiday happening will be held at 2100 Military Road, Niagara Falls.
•The Niagara SPCA will hold a fish fry fundraiser, the Easter Bunny and an Easter egg hunt, from 3-7 p.m. Friday, March 29, at the Shawnee Firehall, 3747 Lockport Road.
Meet the Easter Bunny from 3-5 p.m., participate in the Easter egg hunt (for children up to age 12) from 5-6 p.m., and enjoy a bake sale, crafters and a small raffle.
Fish fry dinners are provided by Dirty Bird. Presale tickets only.
•All children between the ages of 1 and 10 are invited to come to Fort Niagara State Park on Saturday morning, March 30, with their parents or guardians, to participate in the Youngstown Easter egg hunt.
A press release stated, “Sponsored annually by the Youngstown Lions Club, this colorful, free, fast-moving event will begin at 11 a.m., so arriving a bit early is recommended. Egg gathering areas will be divided into separate age groups. Children should bring their own Easter baskets to collect eggs, and candy will be provided to all participants.”
