NFP seeks 'WNY's Best'

Contest runs during football season

Niagara Frontier Publications is bringing back its fall food contest this year. Now through the end of the football season, we want your input in naming the area’s best chicken wings, pizza, and place to watch a game. It could be a bar, a restaurant or a social club – the only requirement is that the nominee(s) be Western New York-based.

Voting is now underway.

The place(s) with the most votes will be prominently featured in the Niagara County Tribune-Sentinel and Island Dispatch, with additional content posted at www.wnypapers.com.

When you cast a vote for your favorites, you’ll be entered to win a food prize courtesy of an area restaurant. Winners will be chosen by random draw and notified by phone or email.

Voting begins Friday, Sept. 29, 2023, and will conclude when the local professional football team’s season ends. Vote and find rules online at www.wnypapers.com; or fill out an entry form found in the newspaper (returning in subsequent weeks), and mail it to Niagara Frontier Publications, 1859 Whitehaven Road, Grand Island, NY 14072.

Note: If you are voting for a chain restaurant (an eatery with more than one location), that establishment must be headquartered in Western New York.

TO ENTER: Fill out the form by clicking the highlighted link above, or the link below, to redirect to the entry webpage. Once there, answer the questions and submit the information.

Entries also can be found in Niagara Frontier Publication's (NFP) newspapers. Those entries can be submitted in hard copy form to 1859 Whitehaven Road, Grand Island, NY 14072.

No photocopies will be accepted.

GRAND PRIZE: The location(s) with the most votes at the end of the contest will receive a special recognition and a full write-up in NFP's two main newspapers -- the Niagara County Tribune-Sentinel and the Island Dispatch -- and on this website. Additional photos also will be posted online.

THOSE NOMINATING AN EATERY will enter to win a prize. One participant will be selected by random draw at random intervals throughout the contest and receive a general food gift certificate courtesy of a participating restaurant. (Not necessarily the restaurant entrant voted for in contest.) Prizes not claimed within thirty (30) days of winner's notification will be returned to NFP.

Total prize value is less than $60.

NFP reserves the right to award a second like prize during any week of the contest.

BY ENTERING THIS CONTEST, YOU GRANT NFP THE RIGHT TO PUBLISH YOUR NAME IN ITS NEWSPAPERS AND WEBSITE. THE PERSON OR PERSONS WINNING A PRIZE WILL BE LISTED IN CONTEST ADVERTISEMENTS.

CONTEST DATES: Contest runs from 8 p.m. (ET) Friday, Sept. 29, 2023, through 11:59 p.m. (ET) on the night the local professional football team's season ends. It is open to residents of the U.S. and Canada ages 18 and up, or under the age of 18 with parental or custodial consent.

Employees of NFP, its immediate families and those submitting prizes are not eligible to win a prize during this contest.

MULTIPLE ENTRIES: Multiple entries are permitted in this contest (MAXIMUM: 50 per household or person or email address, whichever is greater.)

The more you enter, the greater your chances of winning a food prize -- and the more likely your favorite place will win this contest.

ELIGIBLE RESTAURANTS AND CLUBS: The general public can vote for any locally owned, stand-alone restaurant, bar or social club (i.e. a Moose Lodge). If you are voting for a chain restaurant (an eatery with more than one location), that establishment must be headquartered in Western New York.

DISQUALIFICATION: Nominees can be disqualified if:

1) They are not located in Western New York

2) They are not in operation or are seasonal

3) They are not a restaurant, bar or social club

4) They cannot be contacted
