The Erie County Fair is proud to announce another milestone in its ongoing partnership with FeedMore WNY. The venue collected a record-breaking 164,384 pounds of food on Wednesday - marking the fifth consecutive time it has set a new record for the largest single-day summertime food drive for FeedMore WNY.

In honor of Purple Heart Appreciation Day, Erie County Clerk Michael P. Kearns recognized Erie County Purple Heart Recipients added to the William J. Donovan Purple Heart Book of Merit for 2024. No formal record of Purple Heart recipients in Erie County existed prior to 2018, when Kearns originated Erie County's version of the "Book of Merit."

Belle Isle Entertainment will hold an open casting call for the Christmas rock-musical "Joseph and Mary," being produced on Grand Island this coming holiday season. "Joseph and Mary" is a story of enduring love, hope and redemption played against the forbidding Roman occupation of Judea. The show will have a mix of catchy show tunes and poignant love songs blending history, with humor and clever lyrics.

The fourth Frank J. Gaffney Purple Heart recognition ceremony saw over a hundred spectators on hand outside the Niagara County Courthouse on Sunday. The American Legion Band of the Tonawandas performed, and 89 new names were added to the memorial monument in Lockport. There are now 557 named honorees carved in stone around the flagpoles next to the courthouse.

ESPN, a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company, and WWE, part of TKO Group Holdings, today announced a landmark rights agreement as ESPN platforms, including the new ESPN direct-to-consumer streaming service, will become the exclusive U.S. domestic home of all WWE premium live events (PLEs), including the two-night cultural phenomenon WrestleMania, starting in 2026. This deal makes ESPN home to the highest-profile WWE events of the year.

The Niagara County Youth Bureau, as the recipient of funding from the New York State Office of Children and Family Services related to Youth Development Programming, Youth Sports and Education Funding, Youth Team Sports and Runaway and Homeless Youth Funding, is now accepting grant applications. ESPN and the NFL have reached new licensing agreements, extending ESPN's NFL Draft rights and, separately, adding NFL programming and content to ESPN's upcoming direct-to-consumer (DTC) service, as well as to Disney+. The agreement also includes the opportunity for fans to bundle ESPN's DTC service with NFL+ Premium.
