N-WHS to host fundraising event for music program

The Niagara-Wheatfield High School Music Parents Club is holding a basket auction fundraising event from 3-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20 at Niagara Wheatfield High School, 2292 Saunders Settlement Road, Sanborn.

The gift of giving is in the air at the Niagara-Wheatfield Senior High School. Students, faculty and staff are participating in "Warmth of Veterans" that serves the Homeless Veterans Center of WNY. Donations of children's coats will be presented to "Coats for Kids" in conjunction with Capitol Cleaners.
Local law enforcement cracks down on DWI

Seven people across Niagara County were arrested during this time for driving while intoxicated. These extra patrol units also had an additional 17 arrests and issued approximately 181 traffic tickets.

CWM's hazardous waste landfill reaches capacity

CWM Chemical Services announced this week that its Residuals Management Unit 1 landfill has reached its airspace capacity. The company is no longer accepting hazardous wastes at its Balmer Road facility in Porter.

Winkley sworn-in as supervisor in Lewiston

The Town of Lewiston Town Council voted Monday to place Ron Winkley in the supervisor position until Steve Broderick takes the reins in January. The former Lewiston Police Department chief and Village of Lewiston trustee has served with this board since 2008.
