Lewiston Town Board approves concept plan for 5/4 President's Park

At its regular meeting on Thursday, the Lewiston Town Board, as lead agency, moved to approve a negative declaration and concept plan for the 5/4 President's Park planned unit development on Washington Drive. The project was proposed by developer Joe Giusiana.

'100 deadliest days': Teen driver deaths jump in summer months

Across the country, 13,135 people have been killed in a crash involving a teen driver between 2019-23. Over 30% of those deaths occurred during the "100 deadliest days" between Memorial Day and Labor Day, according to a AAA review of crash data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NTHSA). On average, 8 people are killed per day in teen-involved driving crashes in the summer, compared to 7 per day during the rest of the year.

Kathy Hochul announced General Motors will invest $888 million in new machinery and equipment at its Tonawanda plant to produce a next-generation small-block V-8 engine for use in GM's line of full-size trucks and SUVs. The project will support 870 jobs at Tonawanda Propulsion, including 177 jobs that were deemed at risk.
