Carolyn Beard to be ordained at Lewiston's First Presbyterian Church

The Presbytery of Western New York Presbyterian Church (USA) has announced the ordination of Carolyn "Carly" Beard to the Ministry of Word and Sacrament. The formal ordination service will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Old Stone Church at First Presbyterian Church, 505 Cayuga St., Lewiston. A fellowship celebration will follow at the church.
Empire State Wrestling announces '1 Fall!' in Niagara Falls, with major match announcements

Empire State Wrestling (ESW), Western New York's premier professional wrestling promotion, announced "1 Fall!" The event will take place Friday, Sept. 26, at the Frontier Fire Hall, located at 2176 Liberty Drive, Niagara Falls. Doors for this action-packed night will open at 6 p.m., with the first bell scheduled for 7 p.m.

Tom Welling (Clark Kent/Superman), Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor), Kristin Kreuk (Lana Lang), Erica Durance (Lois Lane) and Laura Vandervoort (Kara/Supergirl) shared stories, posed for selfies, and answered questions in a 45-minute session hosted by journalist Maggie Lovitt.
