UB: Study highlights link between hostile racism and suicide risk in young Black men

Hostile racism, such as overt, aggressive and demeaning racial encounters, is significantly associated with increased suicidality in young Black adult men. But not all experiences with racism examined in a new study affected suicide risk in the same way, according to a University at Buffalo School of Social Work faculty member who was part of the research team.

TSA to enforce $45 REAL ID verification fee beginning Feb. 1

Starting Feb. 1, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will begin enforcing a $45 identity-verification fee for passengers who attempt to fly without compliant identification. All travelers who do not present an acceptable form of a REAL ID, U.S. passport, or other accepted ID will be directed to TSA's optional ConfirmID identity-verification process at check-in, before entering the security screening line.
