AAA partners to provide service dog to local veteran

AAA Western and Central New York is proud to introduce its newest member, Vanessa the service dog. While AAA doesn't actually have pet membership available just yet, Vanessa did receive a warm welcome at AAA WCNY's Amherst headquarters during a recent visit, which was all part of the organization's partnership with WNY Heroes.

Gov. Kathy Hochul directed flags on state buildings to be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Tuesday, Oct. 7, in remembrance of the victims of the Hamas attack on Israel two years ago. Additionally, the governor directed landmarks to be illuminated in yellow in solidarity with Israel and the 48 remaining hostages who have not been returned home.

Check-in begins at 9 a.m., with opening ceremonies at 10 a.m. and the walk commencing at 10:15 a.m.

Hochul extends executive order ensuring New Yorkers can receive updated 2025-26 COVID shot

Gov. Kathy Hochul recently announced an extension of executive order 52, which allows pharmacists to continue administering COVID vaccines, providing access for all New Yorkers who wish to be vaccinated. The executive order will be in place for at least another 30 days while work continues on a long-term legislative solution to protect the immunization and health care rights of New Yorkers.
