NBC has announced the Emmy Award-winning musical competition series "The Voice" will launch its sixth season with the return of coaches Shakira, Usher, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton in a special two-night premiere Monday, Feb. 24 (8 p.m.), and Tuesday, Feb. 25 (8 p.m.).

NBC has greenlit the 12-hour miniseries "A.D.," a follow-up to the miniseries "The Bible" that aired on History earlier this year from creators Mark Burnett and Roma Downey.
The project will be produced by LightWorkers Media with Burnett, Downey and Richard Bedser serving as executive producers.
"A.D." will most likely air in spring 2015.

When Niagara County lawmakers meet Tuesday, they will receive copies of a letter Legislator Michael A. Hill, R-Middleport, sent to Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo late last week urging him to sign a bill to protect volunteer firefighters from being fired because of commitments to their communities.
If Cuomo fails to sign the bill into law by midnight Wednesday, it will die, despite widespread bipartisan support in the Senate and Assembly - as well as urgent lobbying by FASNY, the Firefighters Association of the State of New York.

As part of round III of Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo's Regional Council initiative, the Western New York Regional Economic Development Council was awarded $60.8 million for 81 projects last week in Albany. The priority capital projects awarded funding include projects that support the region's 2011 strategic plan, "A Strategy for Prosperity." These projects focus on strategies that promote smart growth, workforce development and entrepreneurship. In total, $715.9 million was awarded throughout the state through round III of the Regional Economic Development Council initiative.
