For more than 15 years now, millions of people (myself included) have watched Kiefer Sutherland give compelling television performances in "24," "Touch" and "Designated Survivor." He's made each role dynamic, for sure, but his characters are always brooding. They're never the life of the party.

On behalf of the Historical Association of Lewiston and its board of directors, happy birthday Sentinel! The Sentinel's first edition was issued Feb. 14, 1987, and actually had the title of "We Need A Name!" It was since that very first edition that the HAL started its long relationship with the Sentinel, when we placed our member meeting notice in it for a historian to speak about the history of Lundy's Lane.

Twenty-year-old Carly Marrs of North Tonawanda, whose vehicle struck and killed two teenagers last summer, was sentenced Feb. 8 to pay a $243 fine for imprudent speed. She was also convicted of unlawful possession of marijuana. However, she was found not guilty for reckless driving, a misdemeanor; and an unspecified violation.
