A group of local, classically trained musicians is planning an inspiring afternoon of music to support disaster relief efforts the world over.
Village of Lewiston approves Hibbard's renovation, denies Art Council request

The second phase of expansion at Hibbard's Original Frozen Custard was approved Monday by the Village of Lewiston Board of Trustees. The Hibbard family was granted a special use permit for a 24-foot-by-13-foot concrete pad and customer queuing area with overhang canopy. This waiting spot will be located directly behind newly enlarged serving windows, which were previously approved.
Lewiston Garden Club installs officers

The Lewiston Garden Club held its installation luncheon Monday at Apple Granny Restaurant. District 8 Director Debbie Braun installed the officers, including: President Marianne Gittermann, 1st Vice President Janet Miller, 2nd Vice President Darinda Hoffman, 3rd Vice President Barbara Stafford, Recording Secretary Sharon Low, Corresponding Secretary Judy Talarico and Treasurer Barbara Carter.

The Bear's Den Showroom inside Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino is getting ready to bring the heat this June with three shows announced Tuesday: Natural Wonder: The Ultimate Stevie Wonder Tribute on Saturday, June 2 (8 p.m.); Dennis Quaid and The Sharks on Saturday, June 23 (8 p.m.); and Sophie B. Hawkins on Saturday, June 30 (8 p.m.).

"I Can Only Imagine" (Lionsgate, Roadside Attractions), the movie based on the life of MercyMe frontman Bart Millard - who wrote the mega-hit song after the loss of his father to cancer - shattered pre-weekend tracking expectations to become No. 3 at the box-office this weekend - and the No. 1 faith-based movie of 2018. The film took in an estimated $17,064,640 for a per-screen average of $10,475 from 1,629 locations in North America.

Jacobs introduces bill improving access to fertility preservation services for cancer patients

New York State Sen. Chris Jacobs, R-60th, has introduced legislation that would improve access to fertility preservation services for cancer patients whose treatments may directly or indirectly cause infertility. The bill, S7163, accomplishes this by requiring health insurance policies to provide coverage for standard fertility preservation prior to a patient beginning their recommended cancer treatments.
Public invited to NCCC student showcase
