A resolution by Niagara County Legislator Christopher Robins calling on New York state to consider a redesign for Route 104 in front of Niagara University to allow better pedestrian access to the Shoreline Trail and Niagara Gorge was unanimously passed Tuesday night by the Niagara County Legislature.

Kathy Hochul on Tuesday announced the availability of $600 million to communities statewide through the Water Infrastructure Improvement Act (WIIA), Water Quality Improvement Project (WQIP) Program, and Intermunicipal Grant (IMG) programs to fund projects to upgrade infrastructure and make communities more resilient to flooding and other impacts of severe storms and weather events.

Pinnacle Travel hosted its Pinnacle Island 2021 Golf Tourney benefit on Aug. 13 at the Beaver Island golf course on Grand Island. Mercy Hospital of Buffalo and Sisters of Charity Hospital have become the first hospitals in Western New York to offer what they called "next-generation technology" for dialysis care called the Tablo Hemodialysis System. The changeover to the new dialysis program within Catholic Health is aimed at improving the patient experience, while reducing the cost and complexity historically associated with dialysis treatment.

The newly remodeled Brickyard Brewing Company was the scene, Saturday night, for the return of "Lewiston Jeopardy!" - a beer and pizza fundraiser for the Historical Association of Lewiston. Fans filled the second-floor banquet room to watch four rounds of questions (plus the all-important final question) while also competing for raffle tickets and other prizes during the "commercials." This event - canceled in 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions limiting gatherings - raised more than $1,000 for HAL.
