On Tuesday, heat advisories are expected to expand across much of the state, including the Southern Tier, Mohawk Valley, Central New York, Finger Lakes and Western New York regions with feels-like temperatures ranging from the low 90s to over 100 degrees.

Gov. Kathy Hochul today directed that flags on all state government buildings be flown at half-staff in honor of NYPD officer Didarul Islam and the victims of the July 28 shooting at an office building in Midtown Manhattan. Flags were lowered to half-staff at sunrise today and will remain lowered until all of the victims are laid to rest.
New York State Canal Corp. offers free Erie Canal bicentennial commemorative posters

State tax receipts totaled $33.2 billion through the first quarter of state fiscal year (SFY) 2025-26, $580.5 million higher than the most recent Division of the Budget (DOB) estimates. State tax collections were also $3.3 billion higher than the first quarter of 2024, according to the monthly state cash report released by New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli.
