The Lewiston Service Guild, in partnership with the Friends of the Youngstown Free Library, will once again host a harvest tea. This year's event is set for Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Youngstown Presbyterian Church. Doors will open at noon, with tea service beginning at 1 p.m.

The Presbytery of Western New York Presbyterian Church (USA) has announced the ordination of Carolyn "Carly" Beard to the Ministry of Word and Sacrament. The formal ordination service will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Old Stone Church at First Presbyterian Church, 505 Cayuga St., Lewiston. A fellowship celebration will follow at the church.

Several distinguished citizens and business people, a television journalist, and the Niagara's Choice Credit Union will be recognized this year at the Historical Association of Lewiston's annual wine, beer and pizza "Jeopardy" event on Thursday, Sept. 11. The fundraiser will take place at Bella Rose Winery, 1243 Ridge Road, Lewiston, starting at 6:30 p.m.

Lockport-Niagara Hospice will hold its annual Mighty Niagara Half Marathon and Hospice Dash 5K Run/Walk on Oct. 4. The half marathon starts at Artpark State Park in Lewiston. The 5K starts at Porter on the Lake Town Park. Both races finish at Porter on the Lake Town Park.

On Sunday evening, Artpark & Company hosted the world premiere of Buffalo composer Moshe Shulman's "Beyond Buffalo: A Celebration of Multiculturalism in Music and Dance." The event took place on the Emerald Grove stage, and featured original composition with six musicians and seven dancers working together to showcase several international styles of music and accompanying, distinct styles of dance.

The Niagara County Youth Bureau, as the recipient of funding from the New York State Office of Children and Family Services related to Youth Development Programming, Youth Sports and Education Funding, Youth Team Sports and Runaway and Homeless Youth Funding, is now accepting grant applications. Funding for the new program year begins Oct. 1, and runs through Sept. 30, 2026.
