Halloween 2024 was celebrated with unusually warm weather and lots of Halloween books. The Lewiston Service Guild sponsored a Halloween celebration with the Tuscarora Nation School by providing a Halloween-themed book for each student, Halloween treats and, of course, cookies and cider.
LCA presents 'A Tribute to the Edmund Fitzgerald'

More pumpkins stolen in Lewiston

The Lewiston Beautification group informed the Tribune/Sentinel that more decorative pumpkins were stolen from their Center Street display this week. Thefts occurred either late Tuesday or early Wednesday. Volunteers are "beyond frustrated" this happened for a second time since displays were installed two weekends ago.
Fairbanks food preview at Billy Club

In coming months, Billy Club restaurateurs Daniel Hagen and Jake Strawser will open Fairbanks restaurant inside the Frontier House. They recently announced Corey Orsburn will serve as executive chef at their Lewiston location. Orsburn previously worked at top eateries in his native Oklahoma (NONESUCH), New York City (Eleven Madison Park), San Francisco (Lazy Bear) and Washington, D.C. (Lutèce).

Lewiston firefighters respond to landfill fire incident on Pletcher Road

On Sunday, Chief Spencer Lilly of Lewiston Fire Co. No. 1 reported a landfill fire at 1445 Pletcher Road required a multi-company response. Lewiston Fire Company No. 1 was dispatched to the landfill fire, where, upon arrival, a large pile of rubber tire chunks was found burning.
Historical Association of Lewiston awards Indigenous Peoples' Day Scholarship

Kenyon Serpas, a junior at the University at Buffalo, was the recipient of this year's Historical Association of Lewiston's Indigenous Peoples' Day Scholarship. The award ceremony was held Monday at the Tuscarora Heroes Monument on Center Street, in recognition of the longstanding friendship between the people of Lewiston and the Tuscarora Nation.
