Arts Services Inc. (ASI) has announced the presenters for its second annual "Creative Professionals Exchange (CPX)," which will take place virtually on Friday-Saturday, Nov. 6-7. The conference will explore how artists and arts organizations can adapt to the current climate while being more inclusive of and accessible to the entire Western New York community.

At approximately 1:26 p.m. Wednesday, Niagara Falls Police Department officers responded to the City Market at 18th Street and Pine Avenue regarding an alleged stolen vehicle. Officers located the vehicle parked in the lot with two males inside. They approached the car on foot in an attempt to make contact with the occupants. In an effort to escape, the driver of the allegedly stolen vehicle then began ramming the police cars parked in front.

The Niagara County Board of Elections will be open expanded hours for absentee balloting ahead of the Nov. 3 general election: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 21-22; Monday, Oct. 26, and Wednesday, Oct. 28; and 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays, Oct. 24 and 31.

That testing will take place from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday at the City Market, Pine Avenue at 15th Street. Testing also is scheduled from 12:30 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at Bethany Baptist Church, 2002 Forest Ave.

Arts Services Inc. was awarded $10,000 from the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation (MAAF) through the CARES Arts Organization Relief Grants program in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Small to mid-sized nonprofit arts organizations in MAAF's partner states, jurisdictions, and territories were eligible to apply through a competitive process for one-time, nonmatching grants of up to $20,000.

New York Attorney General Letitia James' special investigations and prosecutions unit (SIPU) on Friday announced the conclusion of its investigation into the death of India Cummings. After an exhaustive investigation, SIPU did not find criminal culpability on the part of any of the individuals responsible for her care during the period of her incarceration.
