Niagara Cerebral Palsy officials announced yesterday the nonprofit human services agency will now be known as Empower. The 61-year-old organization also unveiled a new logo and website to supporters last evening at a reception held at the Four Points by Sheraton in Niagara Falls.

The Buffalo Sabres have announced the team will open its training camp on Thursday, Sept. 17, when veteran players are expected to report for testing and physicals. Beginning Friday, Sept. 18, the team's practice sessions at First Niagara Center will be open to the public, with practices being broken down into multiple sessions throughout each day.
