DiNapoli: Value of IDA projects grew 10% in 2021 to $126 billion

New York's 107 local industrial development authorities (IDAs) reported 4,324 active projects with an aggregate value of $126 billion in 2021, a 10.4% (or $11.9 billion) increase compared to 2020, according to a report released Tuesday by State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli. The number of IDA projects increased by 1.5%.

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announced 29-year-old Kente Q. Bell of Buffalo pleaded guilty this afternoon before Erie County Court Judge Kenneth Case to three counts of attempted murder in the second degree (class "B" violent felonies), and one count of criminal possession of a weapon of second degree (class "C" violent felony). The defendant pleaded guilty to the charges in full satisfaction of the indictment against him.

Teens charged for involvement in attack

On the afternoon of Friday, April 7, Niagara Falls Police detectives charged two juveniles for their involvement in an attack that was video recorded and distributed on social media. The two male suspects, ages 15 and 16, were both charged with assault in the third degree and, pursuant to state law, were issued appearance tickets to report to Niagara County Probation Department.

Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman announced Matthew H. Figura plead guilty to the murder of Patrick M. DeLuca this morning in County Court. Figura admitted to killing DeLuca, age 36, of Niagara Falls on June 3, 2021, at Niagara Metals in Niagara Falls, where both were employed.

Caesar of Buffalo was sentenced this afternoon before Erie County Court Judge Susan Eagan to the maximum of 7 1/2 to 15 years in prison as a second felony offender.
