Grammy Award-nominated, multi-Platinum-selling band Bush will celebrate its 30th anniversary with an extensive North American headline tour: "Bush - Loaded: The Greatest Hits Tour." The trek will kick off on July 26 in Bend, Oregon, and include a show at the Artpark Outdoor Amphitheater in Lewiston on Aug. 17. Jerry Cantrell and Candlebox will be the special guests on all dates.

Artpark & Company held its annual meeting at The Buffalo Club on Oct. 18. Senior leadership - President Sonia Clark and Vice President Dave Wedekindt - reported to the board of directors on the organization's highlights and accomplishments for its 50th season. The 2023 campaign featured 189 events, workshops and programs that served nearly 100,000 visitors. Artpark & Company's estimated economic impact to the region was $9.7 million.

Artpark & Company used extra-small font on its heavy-stock, 8-1/2-by-11 2023 season poster in order to cram in as many listings as possible. It doesn't escape me that this typographical method reflects the standard the performing, visual, educational and environmental arts venue has set by jam-packing summers with concerts, walks, tours and talks.

Artpark & Company welcomes "Sensing Resonance Premiere: An Informal Performance of Music, Dance and Spoken Word" from 7:30-9 p.m. this Wednesday, July 19, at the Emerald Grove Stage, located in the lower park (South Fourth Street entrance). In what has become an annual tradition, the Barenaked Ladies returned to Artpark in Lewiston for a sold-out concert on Tuesday. "The Last Summer on Earth Tour" featured some of the Canadian band's biggest hits - and even more hits from opening acts Del Amitri and Five For Fighting.

It's been a minute since Artpark & Company slotted a straight-up Christian music-making solo artist into its list of concert headliners. In the summer of 2007, Rebecca St. James performed inside the Mainstage Theater to a crowd of about 1,000 people. In this, Artpark's 50th anniversary season, the Lewiston visual, cultural, educational and performing arts company welcomes the genre back - and has not only moved the venue - to the outside amphitheater - but has booked perhaps the biggest name in all of Christian music: Lauren Daigle.

So, to understand how many copies of Pink Floyd's March 1973 release, "The Dark Side of the Moon," have sold to date, consider this: If every man, woman and child in the state of New York bought two copies, it still wouldn't equal the musical masterpiece's sales.
