Lewiston Fire Co. No. 2 will be the site of "September Sizzler," a fundraiser for Community Missions of the Niagara Frontier. Barbecue chicken and barbecue ribs will be sold (eat-in or takeout) beginning at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 15, at the firehall, 1705 Saunders Settlement Road.

Buffalo Bisons Manager Tim Teufel joined Dunkin' Donuts franchisees Thursday night to donate 312 pounds of coffee to the Food Bank of Western New York. The donation - the equivalent of 15,600 cups of coffee - was fueled by a season-long partnership between the team and Dunkin' Donuts.

Lewiston Music promoter Steve Goodman's debut "Hot Pepper & Salsa Festival" has been pushed back a few weeks. The Village of Lewiston approved use of Academy Park on Aug. 16 and 17 for the event, but that was too early for the man who just hosted the Lewiston Music Festival on July 8 and 9.

The Lewiston/Niagara-on-the-Lake Rotary Club presented a check in the amount of $3,400 to the Mount St. Mary's Foundation, from proceeds from the club's 2010 "Art of Ribs" Festival held at Academy Park. The funds will go to the enhancement of the maternity department at Mount St. Mary's.
