Artpark invites schools, scouts, artists, to create fairy houses

Artpark is seeking local schools, Scout groups, regional artists, and families to create fairy houses for display at Artpark's new "Fairy House Festival" on June 5. The "Fairy House Festival" will feature a tour of fairy houses throughout the woods and gardens of the park, a book signing by children's book author Tracy Kane, art activities and other "natural" fun for families to enjoy. Tickets for the festival are $5 and can be purchased in advance at www.artpark.net or by calling 754-4375.

CBS announced 16 of 18 castaways who will compete against each other on "Survivor: Redemption Island," when the Emmy Award-winning series returns for its 22nd season, Wednesday, Feb. 16 (8 p.m., ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Two of the 18 castaways, to be revealed later this week, are former castaways who will return to seek redemption.

Artpark reinstates musical theater apprenticeship program

The highly successful musical theater apprenticeship program instituted last summer will be extended for Artpark's August production of "Fame - The Musical" this summer. The apprenticeship program provides an opportunity for up to eight high school music theater students of exceptional talent to participate in the company's Broadway musical production.
