The Blues Society of Western New York, one of the largest blues societies in the world with more than 700 members, will lend its voices and musical talent to the compilation CD "Jammin' for a Cure." All proceeds will benefit breast cancer research. Adrienne Thompson, a breast cancer survivor and a Blues Society board member-at-large, is spearheading the CD, which features 15 local bands with all of their own original music.

Sure, Summer Sanders wanted to win "The Celebrity Apprentice" and raise money for her charity, Right To Play. But, she wasn't going to resort to undercutting her competitors to get the job done. Though NBC's reality television series has a history of bickering, backbiting and bullying, Sanders says that's just not her style.

If you watch "American Idol," and you're like me, then by about the second episode you've had enough of the sob stories. Yes, we feel bad for those down-on-their-luck contestants. And sure, it's nice to learn about the participants and find someone or a few singers to root for throughout the season. But come on, this is the show that brought us Sanjaya, Bikini Girl and Gen. Larry "Pants on the Floor" Platt. We're not watching "AI" because of its cultural enrichment - we're watching it to be entertained.

"Psych" creator and executive producer Steve Franks has mastered pop culture, brilliantly re-imagined cult '80s lines, and marvelously merged action, comedy and romance into his hit USA Network series. So, to up the ante for the second half of season four, he's set his sights on something much larger, stronger and even more theatrical: professional wrestling.

In the "White Collar" pilot, FBI agent Peter Burke (Tim DeKay) tells con artist Neal Caffrey (Matt Bomer) to stop seeking cappuccino in the clouds. It's funny because that's exactly what fans of this show will want: energetic, light and frothy storylines.

In this iTunes age we're living in, half a record isn't going to cut it. When songs sell for 99 cents online, a musician's $15 album isn't going to move off store shelves if it has six good songs and six throwaways. In this case, quantity and quality go hand-in-hand.
