The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation opened a more than 90-day public comment period on its revised draft Supplemental Generic Environmental Impact Statement, DEC Commissioner Joe Martens announced Sept. 7. In addition, the agency will issue its proposed regulations governing high-volume hydraulic fracturing in early October.

Starting Thursday, Sept. 15, and continuing for six weeks, Mount St. Mary's will present the "CHEERS Program" ("Choosing Healthy Eating and Exercise Routines for a Healthier Life"). The centerpiece of the new 9/11 exhibit is a stunning "Attic Window Quilt" made by Linda Hunter of Lockport.

Buffalo Bisons Manager Tim Teufel joined Dunkin' Donuts franchisees Thursday night to donate 312 pounds of coffee to the Food Bank of Western New York. The donation - the equivalent of 15,600 cups of coffee - was fueled by a season-long partnership between the team and Dunkin' Donuts.
