Assemblyman John Ceretto met Wednesday with Gov. Andrew Cuomo to finalize an agreement to end the dispute surrounding the Peace Bridge. As a result, significant economic improvements to the Peace Bridge on the American side will be made and the Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority will not be dissolved. The agreement will be ratified on Friday.

The Niagara County Industrial Development Agency board of directors has approved applications for assistance received at its May meeting from AMDOR Inc. LLC for the proposed construction of a new manufacturing facility in Sanborn and from Bridgewater Estates LLC for a new senior housing complex in Lewiston. In addition, the board approved a revised application for assistance from KI PO Automotive for a $1.54 million expansion project to its operations in Ransomville.

Since its opening in 2003, Hansen House, located in Niagara Falls and operated by Community Missions, has provided adults with psychiatric disabilities a first step toward realizing their goal of more independent living. Earlier this month, the East Hill Foundation presented CMI with a $15,000 donation for an upgrade in the facility's kitchen, where many of the essential daily living skills necessary for residents to transition into more independent living environments are taught.
