Erie County receives credit upgrade from Fitch ratings

Wall Street rating agency Fitch Ratings ("Fitch") has upgraded Erie County's credit rating to "AA" and pronounced the county's rating outlook as "positive" in the county's most recent ratings assessment, announced by Fitch on Monday.

Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announced 22-year-old Teiyahna Bivens of Buffalo was sentenced this morning before Erie County Court Judge Susan Eagan. She received an indeterminate sentence of four to 12 years in prison.

The DeGlopper Memorial expansion committee gathered on Monday, Aug. 26, to witness the installation of a Purple Heart monument that recognizes men and women who were wounded in battle, and a second monument that displays the poignant words of the taps song that is played at every military funeral. The monuments have been added to the DeGlopper Memorial site, located at the triangle of Baseline Road and Grand Island Boulevard.
