The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens welcomes visitors to enjoy a new tropical adventure in a completely renovated greenhouse. The tropical orchard features a collection of edible plants from around the world, two new entrances, new winding pathways and educational signage.

DiNapoli, Erie County DA Keane & Sheriff Garcia announce former deputy clerk sentenced for stealing more than $320,000

Former Deputy Erie County Clerk Alexander McDougall was sentenced Friday to 1 1/3 to 4 years in state prison and ordered to pay full restitution after pleading guilty to stealing over $320,000 in county funds, state Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli, Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane and Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia announced.
Relay For Life first lap held on wintry day

The Land Conservancy purchases 38.3-acre Grand Island property

The Western New York Land Conservancy has permanently protected an additional 38.3 acres on Grand Island. The property will be maintained by the Land Conservancy and be known as the Jim and Edna Braddell Preserve. Funding for the purchase comes from the Greenway Ecological Standing Committee (GESC), which awarded the Land Conservancy a grant to protect the important bird habitat.
DA Keane warns Erie County residents about escort scam

As part of the office's ongoing effort to protect citizens and prevent crime, District Attorney Michael J. Keane is warning the public about a scam involving robbery and sextortion. The Erie County District Attorney's Office is actively investigating several complaints from victims who reported being robbed during an encounter with a person they believed to be an escort.
Neighbors Foundation thanks community, donors

The Neighbors Foundation of Grand Island thanks the hundreds of individuals and organizations who contributed to our successful 2024 holiday distribution. More than 100 of your neighbor families were helped with food baskets and, where appropriate, gift cards for 154 children; 68 of our seniors were also helped in two senior apartment complexes.
