Niagara County announces upcoming closure of Hartland Road

The Niagara County Department of Public Works announced two sections of Hartland Road in the towns of Somerset and Hartland will be closed to all motorists, except local traffic, beginning Monday, June 9. Detour signs will be in place to redirects motorists.

It was designed to help students - many of whom were coming from the Tuscarora territory - feel more connected to the school community.

Wegmans Food Markets today kicked off its companywide "Fill the Bus/Fill the Backpack" scan campaign to raise money for the company's 48 Feeding America food bank partners. Niagara County clerks warn of DMV scam

The county clerks in Orleans and Niagara counties today warned residents that a text scam involving fake Department of Motor Vehicle notifications has been circulating extensively to residents of both counties in recent weeks. Orleans County Clerk Nadine Hanlon and Niagara County Clerk Joseph A. Jastrzemski said that, while the scam is nothing new, their offices have been inundated with calls from local residents expressing concern.

Fraud Alert is a tool provided through the clerk's office that alerts people whenever a document, such as a deed or a mortgage, is recorded under their names with the Niagara County clerk.
Niagara County receives grant to enforce DWI ignition lock requirement

The Niagara County Probation Department announced it has received a grant aimed at enhancing DWI enforcement that targets convicted drunk drivers who break the law by operating vehicles without ignition interlock devices (IID), as well as circumventing the use of or tampering with the devices.
