The Niagara County Sheriff's Office, in conjunction with our law enforcement partners across the county (New York State Park Police, Niagara Falls Police Department, North Tonawanda Police Department, Town of Niagara Police Department, Lewiston Police Department, Middleport Police Department, Somerset Police Department, New York State Police, Lockport Police Department, Youngstown Police Department), announce a traffic enforcement campaign focused on aggressive driving behaviors.
Last week to register for upcoming civil service exams

Niagara County Legislator David Godfrey said this is the last week for candidates to sign up for several upcoming civil service exams. Those interested in exams for caseworker, clerical II, correction officer and social services worker must submit an application by this Friday, Oct. 28. The exams will be given Dec. 10.

Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper, in partnership with the Town of Niagara, has completed a decade-long project to protect and restore a critical forested wetland site along Cayuga Creek in the Town of Niagara. The protection of an additional 12 acres in partnership with the Buffalo Niagara River Land Trust in September caps off restoration work on the creek and surrounding ecosystem.

Ryan announces funding for public safety in Tonawanda

Fire on Lockport Road in Niagara Falls

At 6:14 p.m. Monday, Niagara Falls Fire Department crews responded to a fire at Myles Scrap Yard at 5501 Lockport Road. Multiple vehicles on the southwest section of the yard were on fire. Because of the location, it took several hours to bring it under control, due to the difficulty getting equipment back to the area of the fire.

Higgins: Nearly $250,000 for UB supports project preserving history of Cataract House in Niagara Falls

Congressman Brian Higgins announced a federal grant totaling $249,369 awarded to the University at Buffalo. Funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and awarded through the Collaborative Research grant program, the grant funding will lay the foundation for a print manuscript and a corresponding website on the Cataract House, historically located in Niagara Falls.
