Niagara County BOE: Early voting begins Saturday

Associates of Vietnam Veterans Association Chapter 77 will hold a basket raffle and craft show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at Gratwick Fire House, 110 Ward Road, North Tonawanda. Proceeds support veteran patients in the nursing homes connected to the Batavia and Buffalo VA, as well as children of veterans during the December holidays.

Orleans County Legislature Chairman Lynne Johnson and Niagara County Legislator David Godfrey presented to the Great Lakes Commission at the group's annual conference last week at the Strathallan Hotel in Rochester. The legislators were invited to present on the innovative regional dredging management plan, an initiative began by the Niagara Orleans Regional Alliance.

Niagara County Social Services says HEAP application process begins Nov. 1

Niagara County Social Services Commissioner Meghan Lutz today announced the 2024-25 Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) application window will open on Friday, Nov. 1, with a streamlined application process. Applications have already been sent to qualified individuals that received HEAP last year and meet the early outreach criteria.
