On Thursday, March 7, 2024, at approximately 4:22pm, Town of Niagara Police responded to the 3000 block of Rhode Island Avenue, on a report of an unresponsive male subject lying in a field. Responding officers found a male subject believed to be in 50s deceased in the field.

The iconic all-electric Maid of the Mist, which has been in continuous operation since 1885, sets sail on the 2024 season at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 4. Tours will depart every 30 minutes from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekends. The hours of operation will be extended throughout the summer.

Following the success of its first façade program that was created in 2022, the Niagara County Legislature on Friday announced "Façade Program 2.0," offering matching grants up to $50,000 for qualified business to make exterior capital improvements to their properties. The program is being run by the county's Center for Economic Development.

Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman announced Austin Page, age 23, of Niagara Falls, was sentenced to 20 years in state prison, followed by five years post-release supervision, for his conviction of assault in the first degree. Page had previously plead guilty to assaulting a 2-month-old child, causing severe injuries including broken bones and brain injury.
