Mount St. Mary's Hospital appoints new emergency department manager

Mount St. Mary's Hospital (MSMH) recently appointed Lindsay Gubala, B.S.N., R.N., to serve as the manager of the hospital's emergency department. She is a 20-year veteran of the hospital and holds a bachelor of science in nursing degree from Roberts Wesleyan College, and an associate degree in nursing from Niagara County Community College.

3 Niagara University students awarded Merani Scholarships

Incoming freshmen Valentina Krajacic and Eoin Potwin, and Niagara University junior Gabriella Cole, are the 2023 recipients of the university's Merani Scholarship, a collaboration between Niagara and the Merani Hotel Group to provide opportunities for high-level experiential learning in the hospitality industry. The students will receive an annual scholarship of $7,500 and paid rotating internships at Merani properties.

Teen struck by car in Niagara Falls

At approximately 7:34 p.m. Sunday a 14-year-old male was struck by a car at the Niagara Falls Motel at the 8700 block of Niagara Falls Boulevard The teen was transported to John R. Oishei Children's Hospital of Buffalo, where he was listed as in critical condition.

Expectant and young families are invited to attend one of three Healthy Baby Festival events hosted by Catholic Charities Women, Infants and Children (WIC) nutrition program this August. The festivals are 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 1 at Allen Park in Jamestown; 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 2 at Mang Park in Kenmore; and noon to 2 p.m. Aug. 4 - all at Hyde Park splash pad in Niagara Falls.
