The Wheatfield Lions Club's Five Senses Nature Park on Ward Road was dedicated in honor of the late Henry Scibisz of Wheatfield on Sept. 9. Scibisz was founder of the club and promoted the establishment of the park.

On Wednesday, the Niagara County Industrial Development Agency approved an application for assistance submitted at its August board meeting by Sustainable BioElectric LLC. The company plans to build a renewable energy facility in the Summit Business Park in the Town of Wheatfield. The NCIDA board also accepted an application for assistance for consideration from JSK International Corp. The company will restore the historic Niagara Hotel in Niagara Falls.

Over the past year, YMCA Buffalo Niagara has successfully assisted more than 100 Western New Yorkers in their battle with diabetes. By taking part in a 16-week diabetes prevention program, participants saw a positive change in their heath. This program was such a success that a need arose to expand the offering.
