They seek to build around the Center Street property.

Village of Lewiston officials met Wednesday to discuss recent changes in municipal law. Parking is now limited on Tuesday nights so as to not obstruct private lots. Traffic will be redirected so as to better accommodate patrons exiting the "Tuesday in the Park" series at Artpark.

Business First conducted an analysis of 97 of Western New York's 98 school districts by examining four years of test data provided by the New York State Department of Education. Each school district was then given a rating, indicating the general performance of its public elementary, middle, and high schools. Wyoming, the 98th district, does not have a public high school and therefore did not receive a rating.

Construction crews have worked for the better part of two weeks on the new additions to Hibbard's Custard and the Natural Link butcher shop on Center Street and Portage Road in the Village of Lewiston. The former is adding an indoor seating area for lunch and dinner, while the latter is receiving some additional showroom space.

George Maziarz, R-C-Newfane, have arranged a meeting with New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation Commissioner Rose Harvey to discuss the condition of Niagara Falls State Park and what steps can be made to address this issue before the height of the summer tourism season. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, June 15.

Developer Richard Hastings, attorney John Bartolomei and EI Team President Hormoz Mansouri, the principals behind the historic Frontier House building on Center Street, are expected to present a new proposal to the Village of Lewiston Planning Board on Monday, June 13. Village officials have recently met with the building's owners, and expect to receive a plan that is similar to the one presented to trustees in the first quarter of 2008.
