Artpark's history was center stage as members of the Niagara Frontier Chapter - National Railway Historical Society Inc. and Railroad Museum Of The Niagara Frontier, in collaboration the Historical Association of Lewiston and Artpark State Park, unveiled two new historical plaques outside of the performing and visual arts venue on Saturday.

The Lewiston Council on the Arts was busy Friday afternoon touching up "Tango," the sculpture that dances in front of the Lewiston Senior Center on River Road. Volunteers painted a metal preservative on the artwork.
United Way of Greater Niagara launches 2020 campaign

United Way of Greater Niagara (UWGN) on Friday announced the launch of its 2020 campaign, with Nicolas Maniccia (KeyBank) and Denise Abbott (DeGraff Medical Park) as this year's campaign co-chairs. Running through Nov. 30, funds raised throughout the campaign will continue to support 29 agencies focused on a spectrum of human services throughout the Niagara Region.

SPCA's "Paws for Love" program was recently approved for stress relief events for essential workers. As such, the pups visited Mount St. Mary's Hospital for some stress-reducing therapy on Thursday, in the grassy grove between Mount St. Mary's and Our Lady of Peace Nursing Home. Pet owners and their sweet dogs greeted hospital staff, physicians and nurses.

Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul joined Village of Lewiston officials in officially opening the new, multimillion-dollar waterfront on Wednesday. Improvements at the popular Lewiston Landing include new shoreline stabilization measures to protect the area from future flooding and the installation of new floating docks, a new pathway with railings, improved lighting and power stations.
