Village of Lewiston approves budget; LFD No. 1 looking into ambulance fees

Trustees in the Village of Lewiston voted Monday to approve the fiscal year 2025-26 budget of $5,269,972, and set the tax rate at $8.354858 per $1,000 of assessed property valuation.

After a number of delays, the fish-cleaning station and the upper bathrooms in Lewiston's waterfront area are finally open. The fish grinder in the building is now "industrial strength" and should ward off breakdowns in the future; the bathrooms are also very welcome following the remodel's completion. There are now two separate bathrooms in the building.

Niagara County DMV offices to have Saturday hours for REAL ID

Niagara County Clerk Joseph A. Jastrzemski today said the Niagara County Department of Motor Vehicles offices in Lockport, Niagara Falls and North Tonawanda will have Saturday hours on April 12 and 26 for the limited purpose of processing driver's license transactions related to the implementation of REAL ID. The offices will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on those dates, but you must be in line by 12:30 p.m. to have your transaction processed.
