HUD announces nearly $75,000 to help Tuscarora Nation support more affordable housing

U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson announced more than $655 million in Indian Housing Block Grants to Native American Tribes in 38 states. Funding is distributed to eligible tribes and their tribally designated housing entities (TDHEs) to carry out a range of affordable housing activities in their communities.

Niagara County Legislature takes on NYS Article 10 law

The Niagara County Legislature is expected to take up four resolutions tonight directed squarely at New York's Article 10 law, which involves the siting of electric generating facilities in this state. The law, which legislators said took away local control over siting decision and instead gave control to the Board of Electric Generation Siting and the Environment, has become a source of controversy as large wind and solar developers have descended on Niagara County to site their facilities.

State Parks seeks lifeguards

New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) announced final submission deadlines for outstanding eligibility documents required to process priority homeowner applications submitted for the 2019 Lake Ontario-St. Lawrence River Flood Relief and Recovery Program. The request for documents applies only to homeowners who submitted applications in priority categories during the eligible application periods. New applications are not being accepted.
