Paint the Town Purple Day
May 10 is designated as Paint the Town Purple day, as well as the pickup day for the Krispy Kreme original dozen sale. Krispy Kreme doughnuts will be available for pickup at the Town Hall parking lot from 10 a.m. to noon or until they are gone.
If you want to make sure that you can get doughnuts, you can purchase them by presale. Orders are due with payment by May 4. Email presale order to [email protected]. Payment can be made via cash, check or Venmo (comment number of boxes)
Relay For Life 2025
The 2025 Relay For Life is scheduled for May 17 at Town Commons with the football theme “Tackle Cancer.” Events to be held on that day include food and vendors from 1-6 p.m., entertainment and opportunities for people to design luminaria from 1-6 p.m., and the luminaria ceremony at 9 p.m. There will be a basket raffle, games, food, an inflatable slide, vendors, bingo, and a survivors’ celebration. Father’s Day events
The annual Mary Dunbar-Daluisio Memorial Lawnmower Race and other events are scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 15 at 3957 West River Road. Registration for all events, which include the lawnmower races, the 5K walk/run and the car/truck/bike show, will begin at 9 a.m. There will be a $10 charge for participants in each event. Lawnmower race participants will test their mowers at 11 a.m., and the races start at noon. Awards will be given after the races. The Kevin Doring Memorial 5K walk/run will be held at 10 a.m. The car/bike/truck show is set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Hot dogs, hamburgers and beverages will be available from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
Friends of Lynnette Ride for Relay/basket raffle
Scheduled for 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. July 19, the Friends of Lynnette Ride for Relay will start at the Nike Base, 3278 Whitehaven Road. The ride will be approximately 10 miles on the West River bike path, with a view of the Niagara River. This is considered to be a family-friendly ride. There will be a basket raffle with a presale July 18. One need not need to be present to win a basket. The event is held annually in memory of Lynnette Grisanti and Billy Gugino Jr. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Grand Island Relay For Life.
