“Music Mania Mondays” is returning to Niagara County on June 26. It’s looking to be a packed event with cover bands from all over the country set to perform at Veteran’s Memorial Park at 7000 Lockport Road, Town of Niagara.

The series was founded by Town of Niagara Supervisor Lee Wallace. He said that, between helping out small businesses and nonprofits, this event has grown bigger than he could ever have imagined.

“It grew in ‘16 and ‘17. ‘18 is about the point where it got to where we are, as far as how we decided to do it, and how we decided to bring in the bands from all over the country,” Wallace said.

He explained that, this year, a country series was added for the first time, with two tribute bands set to perform.

“Prior to this year, we’ve always been strictly classic rock,” Wallace said. “So, we branched out a little bit because we’ve had some people who want (it); so, we’re going to try and see how it goes.”

With the end of coronavirus pandemic restrictions, the event bounced back in attendance in 2022, Wallace said. Now expectations are higher.

“COVID really took its toll on not just on us, but on everybody, and on these musical acts, too, because they were playing nowhere,” he said. “We kind of rebounded last year. It was almost back to normal, and this year, I would assume it will be back to normal.”
