Pursuant to an order from Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz, effective Aug. 2, facemasks must be worn by all those entering the Grand Island Memorial Library, Director Bridgette Heintz announced Monday.

Masks are required of all those entering the library, regardless of vaccination status, Heintz said. She noted, however, that all other library protocols and procedures remain unchanged.

This means the book drop is still open, book donations are being accepted, and there is no quarantine period for returned books, videos or CDs. The library’s meeting also remains open.

Heintz also announced the Friends of the Grand Island Memorial Library will hold a members-only book sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 13. Members may fill a bag for $5. Memberships are available at the library, 1715 Bedell Road.

For more information, call the library at 716-773-7124.
