Last week Wednesday, the Town of Wheatfield Town Board met for its reorganizational meeting to start the year. The meeting was the first headed by Town Supervisor Don MacSwan and also the first for Councilman Curt Doktor.
The reorganizational meeting was held to appoint certain people to certain positions, set times and dates for meetings, and other various needs to get the town organized for 2018 (bank deposits, set official newspapers, etc.).
The board designated Greater Niagara Newspapers and the Niagara-Wheatfield/North Tonawanda Tribune as its official newspapers. This designation is done for the town to submit legal notices and other important information that's necessary to get out to the public.
The board also appointed Councilman Larry Helwig as deputy supervisor for 2018. Also, the Town Board appointed Wendel and GHD as the town engineers for 2018. Wendel was also appointed as consultants to the Planning Board.

Also, former councilman Art Gerbec was appointed to the Zoning Board of Appeals for a five-year term. Gerbec recently retired from the Town Board alongside Cliffe.
