The Greater Niagara Ballet Company staged its annual production of "The Nutcracker" over the weekend at the Niagara Falls High School Performing Arts Center. The family-centric production was directed by Beverley Feder and Julie Traver, and starred local dance students (and their parents, too).
This year's guest principal dancers were Irek Muchalski and Mary Schnepf. Soloists included Grace de Rosa, Olivia Duke, Mariette Feltrin, Serena Feltrin, Chloe Kimonos, Tatum McLean and Lillian Traver. Character artists included L. Paul Thomas, Kephas Stender and, portraying Clara, Gianna Cicco and Maria Novelli (pictured).
"The Nutcracker" has been a holiday tradition in Niagara Falls for more than a quarter of a century.
The 2017 show was dedicated to the late John W. Cappello, who performed as the party scene grandfather for four decades.
